The Fool’s Talisman

Materials: Electroformed Ash Tree twigs & natural labradorite

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

A triangle symbolizes power, confidence, and indomitability. It is the strongest and most commanding of shapes. The triangle with the line through it represents the element Air—symbolizing intellect, communication, conciseness.
This copper electroformed triangle is made from real, natural twigs of the Ash tree growing in my backyard. Ash Trees symbolize wisdom and protection.
Labradorite, meanwhile, is often referred to as “The Shaman’s stone” and helps us reach into our deeper and more intuitive selves. It also promotes strength and perseverance- especially during times of change and transformation. It is said to raise spiritual awareness while keeping its owner grounded.
Put together, the components of this talisman, inspired by the spontaneous and transformative “Fool” in tarot,

which represents new beginnings, new life, the proverbial leap of faith from the familiar into the unknown. She is of limitless potential because she simply cannot imagine limitation—she has not before encountered any. Anything is possible. So if The Fool’s premise is “I can do anything”, then The Magician’s question is “what will I do?” WILL, being the operative word. The WILL to learn, to pursue truth. The WILL to turn The Wheel of Fate with one’s own hands. The WILL to try, test, experiment…and of course, the WILL to succeed. There is also will, as in, intent. When you manipulate the elements, or create something new from something else, it takes the shape of your will. What does that look like? How does your will manifest tangibly? The fool says “there are no limits!” And the magician says “wonderful—lets test that theory.” Who knows how far they will fly—or fall.

* PLEASE NOTE: The labradorite in this piece is very flashy, but it is difficult to capture with a camera. Additionally, lighting and differences in camera or monitor settings may affect the color shown in pictures. These materials and gemstones are natural and have been lovingly crafted by mother earth, so small imperfections are to be celebrated and accepted.
