This all natural hand-knotted gemstone talismanic necklace is designed to bring calmness and tranquility. It was inspired by Hypnos, the greek deity and personification of sleep, who is often depicted as a handsome youth with wings protruding from his temples. In the Orphic hymn to Hypnos, this kindly God is described as the “tamer of cares…from whom sweet solace in affliction flows,” emphasizing the power of rest to bring peace and facilitate recovery to the weary body as well as the anxious mind. The focal pendant was hand crafted by an artisan in California out of solid Sterling silver, and is based off one of the only remaining statues of Hypnos left to us today.

I have paired this stunning mythical centerpiece with some highest quality natural 6mm blue-flash moonstone beads (known to promote tranquility and emotional balance while enhancing intuition and spiritual/psychic awareness) and 10mm natural pale blue lace agate (also known for its ability to bring peace and emotional healing, as well as stress relief). This is Accented by 3 solid sterling silver iris-shaped spacer beads paired with natural drop-shaped white lace agate (said to bring peace by calming anxiety, healing emotional wounds, promoting spiritual growth, and facilitating connection and communication with higher consciousness).

The necklace is medium length, slipping on comfortably over the head. the beaded segments is about 20” long, and the Hypnos pendant drops down almost another 2”.
