This beautiful necklace is something I am de-stashing from my personal collection. It is handmade in sterling silver, with intricate rose motifs and bezel-set natural gemstones: peridot, moonstone, and amethyst.
I love the combination of green, purple, and white, as these were the colors donned by the suffragettes during the first-wave feminist. Symbolically, white represented purity, green represented new life and hope, while purple represented royalty and dignity.
roses are also flowers steeped in feminine symbolism. They are ruled by Venus, goddess of Love, beauty, romance, harmony, and pleasure. Roses are often referred to as “the queen of flowers”, And indeed their beautiful, soft, unfurling of petals and alluring sent radiates appeal and desirability…yet beneath this attractive blossom is a stem guarded by vicious thorns. This is a flower that knows her worth—and will draw blood if needed to defend it!
The metal silver has been a long association with the moon, as well as the so-called Divine Feminine and so is seen to align with nocturnal and receptive traits. And is antibacterial by nature, and said to be an ideal conduit for magical energies.
Moonstone Is said to calm the nerves, protect travelers, women, and children, and enhance psychic awareness, magickal ability, and intuition. In many cultures, the moonstone is also said to draw love. It was called “Aphroselene” by the greeks, A name derived from the combined names of two goddesses—Aphrodite, goddess of love, and Selene, goddess of the moon. The Romans believed moonstones were solidified rays of moonlight.
Amethyst is also a stone of tranquility, intuition, and psychic capability/awareness. In addition to these qualities, it is also the stone of sobriety, encouraging temperance and moderation in all things. it is a stone of awakening, responsible for the spiritual awakening of many a practitioner.
Peridot is a stone of spiritual protection, as the ancient Egypt, Egyptians believed it would ward away evil and protect the wearer from malicious psychic or spiritual attack. Green as new growth, It is also a stone of manifestation and abundance, said to attract wealth, luck, and prosperity.
This necklace is about 18 inches long, giving it a sleek choker-like look.
